The SEES Group and SouthEast Eye Specialists are excited to introduce Dr. Christina Elise Douglas, M.D., as the latest addition to their medical staff. Dr. Douglas, a comprehensive ophthalmologist and oculofacial plastic surgeon, will be available to see patients at SouthEast Eye Specialists clinics in Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tennessee.

Dr. Douglas completed her undergraduate studies in Neuroscience and Behavior at Barnard College, Columbia University, graduating with honors and earning membership in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She graduated magna cum laude from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, New York, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Douglas completed her internship in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York, New York, and her residency in Ophthalmology at the Flaum Eye Institute at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Dr. Douglas pursued specialized training in orbital disease, neuro-ophthalmology, ophthalmic plastics, and reconstructive surgery under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Kimberly Cockerham in San Diego, CA. She also participated in clinical trials investigating novel therapeutics for thyroid eye disease (TED). Dr. Douglas possesses a wide range of clinical interests, including conditions affecting the orbit, optic nerve, and facial soft tissues and facial rejuvenation, offering aesthetic reconstructive surgery and various non-invasive treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, lasers, and other energy devices.

A holistic approach to healthcare is at the core of Dr. Douglas’s philosophy. She advocates for an anti-inflammatory lifestyle to promote health, wellness, and longevity, ensuring her patients receive comprehensive care beyond surgical procedures. With a deep understanding that facial refinement is a personal journey, Dr. Douglas personalizes treatments to enhance her patients’ natural beauty while harnessing their body’s regenerative capacity to achieve a youthful, refreshed aesthetic.

When she is away from the office, Dr. Douglas enjoys spending quality time with her family, her fiancé, and her beloved Maltipoo, Clementine. Her interests include hiking, e-biking, culinary exploration, art appreciation, and live music.
