The SEES Group and Eye Health Partners/VisionAmerica welcome William Ehrlich, MD, Ophthalmology, to the Birmingham area. Dr. Ehrlich specializes in Oculofacial and Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Ehrlich earned his Bachelor of Science and medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital along with an Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center. He also pursued a highly competitive preceptorship in Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England.
Dr. Ehrlich is the former Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Lansing Ophthalmology Regional Eye Center. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and National Board of Medical Examiners, a Life Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Michigan State College of Human Medicine in East Lansing for 22 years. Dr. Ehrlich has also taught fat grafting around the world and is an expert in true tumescent liposuction of the face and body. He is an active clinician-scientist.
Dr. Ehrlich has been recognized as one of “America’s Top Ophthalmologists for Cosmetic Surgery” three times during his career and the News Press Media Group named him Best Cosmetic Surgeon in Southwest Florida (2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019); Best Eyelid Surgeon (2017, 2020) and Best Plastic Surgeon (2019). In fact, he was one of the first surgeons in Michigan to perform cosmetic Botox injections, laser facial resurfacing, facial fat grafting, minimal incision facelifts, and true tumescent liposuction.
When he is away from the office, Dr. Ehrlich enjoys spending time with his wife of more than 30 years, their four children and five grandchildren. Dr. Ehrlich also enjoys running, traveling, reading, and playing ice hockey.
