SEES Group is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Kenneth Farr to our VisionAmerica location in Montgomery, Alabama. Dr. Farr is a highly respected, board-certified ophthalmologist with clinical interests in cataracts, LASIK and Oculoplastics.
Dr. Farr earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama Birmingham and his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine Birmingham. He completed his residency at the Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina where he was chief resident and a clinical instructor. He received the Upjohn Special Merit Award and the William Boyd Medal from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and he was accepted into the United States Air Force’s Professional Scholarship Program as a Medical Officer.
While serving in the Air Force, Dr. Farr worked for the Aerospace Medicine Division. He also served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Nellis Air Force Base. He directed the only Pacific Air Force medical division where medical care was given to federal beneficiaries statewide, including veterans’ affairs and medical outreach in Alaska through the Alaska Native Medical Center. Dr. Farr was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal of Excellence and has been recognized as a ‘Leading Physician of the World’ in his field. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
When he’s not working, Dr. Farr enjoys spending time with his family and fishing with his father on Lake Martin.
