The SEES Group is excited to announce the addition of Dr. John L. Stone to our team of ophthalmologists. Dr. Stone, a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with a specialty in retina, will be serving patients at The Retina Center in Chattanooga and our SouthEast Eye Specialists clinic location in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Dr. Stone brings a wealth of expertise in the medical and surgical treatment of diseases affecting the retina. He completed his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA, following his residency in Ophthalmology at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, NY. He also completed an internship at Worcester Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA. Dr. Stone earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and holds undergraduate degrees from Swarthmore College.
Dr. Stone is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Research to Prevent Blindness, the Vitreous Society, and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
In his practice, Dr. Stone provides comprehensive care for all disorders and diseases of the retina, including macular degeneration with injection therapy, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and tears, epiretinal membranes, and uveitis. He also treats cataracts, glaucoma, and acute conjunctivitis.
Dr. Stone is not only a respected provider but also a contributor to the field through his published studies and regional presentations on various eye diseases and treatments.
